Skin

The skin is the body's largest organ and putting your fresh face forward is important.  Proactive patients present with healthier, more beautiful skin through treatments with Dr. Burgess in her Lake Oswego clinic.  This may be achieved through the reduction of wrinkles or other skin treatments to reveal a fresh face. For patients visiting her Portland-area plastic surgery practice, the range of skin services offered by Dr. Burgess includes:

Botox® and Dysport®

Botox® Cosmetic, the most popular non-invasive cosmetic procedure in the US, is an injection treatment that can be performed in many areas of the face to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles. In addition to the cosmetic benefits, Botox Cosmetic may also be used for a handful of therapeutic purposes.  Learn about Dysport for wrinkles.

Juvederm® XC, Restylane®, Prevelle silk®

These dermal fillers are less invasive and are injected into specific areas of the face to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles. Appropriate for a variety of patients, Juvederm® XC can be used to treat issues from nasolabial folds to “marionette lines” at the corners of the mouth.  Other fillers are used to plump the lips and reduce the wrinkles around them.

Sculptra®

As we age, our facial volume decreases and makes us look older. Patients with excellent fitness can look older because of their thin faces.  Sculptra is a facial volumizing agent that can restore lost volume that may last up to two years.

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel is a topical application of a combination of beta and alpha-hydroxy acids that can be used to treat superficial skin issues such as a dull complexion, poor skin texture or blemishes. Chemical peels may vary in strength and may be applied on a variety of skin types.

Aesthetician Services

An aesthetician can provide facials, peels, eye lifts, wrinkle and acne treatments in our relaxing spa-like room.

Scarguard®

Dr. Burgess offers Scarguard MD® as a means to minimize scars following surgery and help flatten and shrink existing scars through moisturization. Scarguard MD® additionally covers the skin with an invisible protective coating to minimize skin irritation.

Sunscreen

For patients who are advised to limit sun exposure following a procedure, Colorescience® is a topical mineral powder with an SPF30 rating that the patient can brush on without the stickiness of conventional sunscreen.

Latisse®

Latisse® is a topical, apply-at-home treatment patients can use to add fullness and length to inadequate eyelashes. In addition to adding length and fullness, Latisse® may also darken existing eyelashes, providing the patient with a more aesthetically pleasing result.

Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is a condition of excessive sweating, beyond what is required for regulating body temperature. Specific body parts can be affected, such as the hands, feet, armpits, face, or the body in general is affected. The problem can occur at different times of day, including the middle of the night.
